Pigeon Pair (Flute and Marimba)
Duet for Flute and Marimba
Length: 6:45
This piece was commissioned by my friends, Mikayla and Austin Probst. They are siblings, and they create a “pigeon pair.“ A pigeon pair is a term used to describe a family that has just 2 children: either a boy and girl as ‘singles’, or twins that are a boy and girl. It comes from an old folk belief that when pigeons sit on two eggs at a time, the hatchlings are a male and female apiece.
